Scuba camera

Not sure where to post this so I may post in both forums. I was wondering what you guys would recommend for underwater photography. I have a huge pro camera, Canon 1D Mark IIN, I was wondering if I should buy or rent a housing for that, I would probably need a light too. Or should I buy an underwater camera, like a Sea n' See? Just got my Open water certification and am leaving in a week for St Lucia.

Having just gotten your OW and leaving in a week, I would go with renting something simple like a Sea n' Sea. At this point, you still need to concetrate on your diving. I would focus more on the diving to the point that you have excellent buoyancy control, and habitually check your gauges without even thinking about it. Than it's time to invest in a good housing and strobe to go with that nice camera

when you do get that expensive housing for the expensive camera, get flood insurance for your camera.
