Wow, awesome pics! Beautiful tank.

Thanks! :D I just glued the blue tip orange table acro last night. It looks sooo nice...it may be my new favorite coral in the tank. I'll have to get a better pic tonight.

SDguy...thanks for the great thread! Quick question...the last pic of the digitate hydroid....is it the purple stuff or the white worm looking thing in the middle. I had that purple stuff start to grow like crazy off some LR I got about 6mos ago. Didn't like the look of ot at all...very hard to get rid of. Any advise?

I put a yellow tang in my tank and it ate it up within a few weeks. Never really grew much in my tank, but it was annoying and was slowly spreading over the course of about 18 months.

Nice tank. I also like your aquascaping a lot.

How many what is your lighting?

You mean watts? 2 x 250W DE in PFO pendants.

or do you mean what kind of lighting? 14K Phoenix bulbs. 8 hours per day.

I buy a chocolate chip star once every 3-4 weeks. I heard that once they finish a star they are satiated for a while and don't come out looking for more until they are hungry. But maybe because mine are not full grown, and still molting often....mine were out searching the tank for food in a day or so after finishing off their last seastar. They are so worth it, IMO.

DE= double ended, as opposed to SE=single ended bulbs.

PFO is the manufacturer of my pendants. Were one of the best when I bought them. I think the Reef Optics are considered better, maybe one other.

Sad day! One of my harlequins died...err, was being eaten by my cleaner shrimp. It's weird. The harlequin had been turning pink the last few days. It's almost like his old shell was ready to molt, but no new shell had formed underneath. The cleaner shrimp was pulling meat out of him like a stuffed burrito. It was really gross.

I've never experienced anything like this. A slow (many days) death of a shrimp...any ideas? The other one is fine, and both have molted several times since I bought them.

Well, I finally got off my butt and tried out the underwater housing on my camera (I've had it for over a year, still in the box  ) Here are some pics from tonight:

Acro crab. Came in on a birdsnest. Crossed quite a distance to this pocillopora:

Some kind of red tipped green tabling acro (glued it backwards on the rock, so waiting for new growth to start from the underside which is now the top/front side:

And a nicer shot of my favorite table acro:

Xenia...sure people thinks it's boring now, but I still think it's cool. How many other corals can move on their own? :D

Thanks, it's nice keeping this thread going, seeing things progress. I finally got female dispars for my male that seem to be surviving. Will get some pics when they are more settled in.
