Sea Hares , can't keep one alive

I bought a blue spotted sea hare and it seemed fine for 10 days and just died, the nice LFS owner sold me another at cost and it seemed fine as well and died 5 days in my reef.

I did a 3 hour drip acclimatization , my parameters are temp 79-80, sg 1.025 , ph 8.1-8.25 , ca 455, dkh 10-11 . There is no sign of trama or injury. I have many snail and inverts with no other losses.

Is this blue spotted hare just hard to adapt ? Are the uglyier green ones any better ?

First of all, at certain times of year these sea hares form huge masses where they're probably spawning and then most die afterwards. Based on the fact that this species is usually uncommon in the hobby and has suddenly appeared all over, I suspect that someone is going out to these aggregations and collecting dying animals.

Just to cover the bases though, what are you feeding them?

There is patches of algae in the tank and nori as well and my LM blenny has plenty to eat considering how long he's been in the tank.

What kind of algae? These guys feed mostly on cyano and a bit on epiphytic algae. Nori isn't really a suitable food for them, nor is hair algae.
