I was glued to my tank today and spotted this little guy. Approx 1/4 inch in length, maybe... moves very quickly. Spotted first on the sand bed and then moved to the glass. We have a tank that has only been up and running for approx 2 months with little life other than some janitors and a cabbage coral from a friend. We seeded with GARF grunge. There is a small shell presence and long tentacles. Turbo! What to do with it??? Thanks!

Chuck is right, your description sounds exactly like a Stomatella snail, although I can't really verify it from your pics. You typically need a dorsal view to ID just about any snail or slug. Stomatellas are algal grazers, and are considered nice guys by the aquarium crowd.

Cheers,

Don

Thank you for your time! The little thing wouldn't sit still long enough to get a good picture and was far enough in that I didn't have much luck. Sounds like I can cross this worry off the list. Best wishes.
