Seachem Gray Coast substrate

looks like ash to me =P a bit tacky in my opinion. i would go for the tahitian moon sand. sure it's silica, but it won't harm the reef. it's not like you could really depend on aragonite to buffer your tank anyway.

if you wanna go dark, i'd recommend the tahitian. in fact, if you want to buy my bag (half full) i'll give you a good price =)

probably not to gobies, and definately not for shrimp (why would it?)

if you really want super goby safe sand, go for the suger sized aragonite from carib sea or the oolitic sand. that's not black though =/

yea ive always used the regular aragonite before in my reefs and i want to try black sand. Ive seen others who have used it and i really like the way it looks.

ruffly how many pounds do you have and where are you located? its for my aquapod12 and wouldnt want anything more than 1inch sand bed.

i have plenty for a 1" area in an aquapod 12. in fact i have a "cycled" bunch of sand as well that can seed yours.

i'm located in albany, ca

would the tahitian be harmful to sand sifting gobies or shrimp?

Too sharp, like Jedi said.
