Seachem Magnesium Test Help

Hey Everyone,

I just purchased a Seachem Magnesium test kit (it was the only mag test kit available in my area) and I have a question for those that currently use this kit.

The instructions state that you are supposed to fill the collection vial to the green line. My collection vial, for that matter all of my vials, have no green line. Can anyone tell me how much (volume) sample I need to collect in the collection vial?

The collection vial is a rectangular cube piece that you titrate into up to the green line. The sample vial is tiny (the smallest one )and you fill that to the very top and follow instructions

I'm aware. I read the instructions and downloaded the color manual from the internet. The problem was that all vials and containers came unmarked. The rectangular vial not only didn't have a green line, but no line whatsoever.

I contacted Seachem tech support about the issue. They were extremely helpful and immediately sent out a replacement for my kit.

Glad they helped you out with a new vial. IMO the mag test is pretty accurate but a lot of people don't like to use them, too many steps .. it reminds me of my organic chem labs in college
