The seagrass beds, seahorses and the Dugong population will vanish. At least 5000 signatures are needed and if you have time please add a comment!.

They plan to clear 2,255 acres of mangrove for Petrochemical and Maritime industries polluting the land with industrial gases, paints, varnishes, petrol refinery etc. You have to read further on the website..

the problem is that by the time we get around to signing it and having it go to where it needs to go. it'll be too late. i only get fish i know are captive. or bred by friends.

Signing petitions and writing letters are a great place to start and I'm happy to see some activity of this kind.

But what about the wildlife right outside your back door?

If you're a coastal resident in the United States, take a look at the sorts of protection we have for our estuaries (like the Chesapeake Bay, the Delaware Bay, the Narangansett Bay, the Indian River Lagoon, the Laguna Madre, the Monterey Bay, or the San Francisco Bay) and think about our own American coastal activities.

Are we doing enough for our own sensitive species here at home? Are we doing enough for dolphin, loggerhead sea turtle nesting sites, lined seahorses and dwarf seahorses, and their seagrass habitats?

Is there more that we could be doing for local wildlife with our own government?
