Seans 75 gallon Moneypit!

New toy courtesy of Adam at Battlecorals. Awesome gear to go with the awesome coral. Went a little oversized due to my plans to upgrade in 2017

Wow I am glad you finally found the culprit! Thoes are some beautiful colonies you have grown :) I wonder if vortech corrected the problem in the new qd's or if it's just luck that makes them start to rust. I never k ew they were known to do that! Thanks is for sharing your experience. I am glad I clean my pumps every three or four months now.

Very nice! Sorry to hear about the vortech rusting now you have me paranoid...which model was it?

This was the very 1st or 2nd model. I don't even think it was a "w" in the model. Just mp40 I believe.

I think all the magnets are now sealed since the eco smart driver was introduced.

Me too! All these guys started as little 1" frags and I would've been really bummed to have a full blown meltdown.

I'm still dealing with the aftermath. If I get too lazy about changing water I will get a decline in alk demand. I'm still not sure if the large miyagi tort will ultimately survive. I've had to cut a couple chunks out that were stn'ing. Time will tell I suppose. My SCOP is looking rough too, but still good PE on it.

Seans 75 gallon Moneypit!

Here's a shot of the skimmer. I think this is the 3rd day? Pretty nice results so far. Have not had to touch the level adjustment at all since I first fired up. Pretty amazing compared to past skimmers I've owned

Got to love deltecs great choice [emoji106]

nice tank you have there.
What's the diameter of the body of that skimmer and the neck of the skimmer?

Thanks

It's a 6" neck. The throat looks around 4" if I had to hazard a guess
