Hey guys,

I discovered this cute creature while in Seattle this past weekend. Anyone have any idea what kind of fish this is? Kinda looks like a mandarin but I've browsed some pictures and I can't find one that looks like him..

Thanks!

A juvenile dragon wrasse.

Note the appearance changes quite a bit as it matures and then the other common name tends to apply; the Rock Mover Wrasse.

Thanks a ton!

I'll be looking up some information on this guy and hopefully pick one up- assuming they don't get incredibly ugly or anything as adults. :D

They get big and are very destructive with their hunting methods. Their appearance changes considerably but the adult form is still beautiful. Not a fish for most tanks. It will need to be moved from the tank it's in at tsa when it matures.

Edit: Yech. These things can be kinda nasty in a reef it seems.

I'll keep the picture and give up on acquiring one. Thanks again!

Where do you get these in Seattle?

Where do you get these in Seattle?

I'm headed into the City, but I don't know which stores to get good fish or corals at. Sorry to jump on on this thread?

No clue, I was there with fiancé for a weekend only. We only hit the aquarium downtown.

It's pretty cool though- primarily salt water but nearly all cold.
