it has been bleached foer 4 weeks and has been so since I got it. I recieved it as a rescue and I wonder what is the best way to get it healthy again. the tentacles are all retracted and it doesnt seem to eat what I feed. any recommendations?

Perfect water quality, consistent temp (no fluctuation more than 2 deg), consistent S.G. I drip my freshwater through the day instead of water top-off systems. Strong light, MH or T5. Medium alternating water flow. SCWD or sea swirl helps.

Patience... When they bleach the zooanthiliea (sp?) are leaving the tissue. It is sick and dieing. Think about when you are really sick. You want to be taken care of with the best care possible. Don't do anything drastic! Slow and steady wins the race.

Feed daily every other day at worst. 1/2 Silversides or squid or clam pieces are best. Use water from the tank to thaw and bring up to tank temp. Place at the mouth so it doesn't have to work as hard to eat. DO NOT shove food in... Try and coax it into the mouth. If it doesn't open the mouth when food is introduced and it has no stickiness to it. It is to far gone.

Both my sebae (the one in my avatar) and my LTA were bleached out petco refugees. (b4 I knew better)
Though it's not the best way too start, they can recover.
Good water and good light.
Don't stress the force feed, leave it alone.
They get alot of what they need from light.
I feed my fish mysis, and my nems always pull some in.
Try a silverside piece like once a week, but if it doesn't take it don't try to make it eat it.
With good light it can go a long time w/out spot feeding.
When it's healthy, 1-2 silvers a week.
