He hasn't attached to the sand. He went to a rock cave, 1/4th way up the tank. He grabs on and shifts his body either in the cave or spread open during the day to the light. He keeps moving his foot around grabing to go this way or that way. Not sure what the heck he is doing.
But, he did float and flip over on his mouth too. Just one day I came home and he was in this little cave area. Not sure if he floated there and got stuck and decided it wasn't such a bad place, or he actually meant to go there.
He eats and has gotten his color back (not sure how dark they should be), so I guess he is happy.
mine also found a cave in the center of my tank but he didnt move after he went in there. he went to the back of the tank and stayed there. so after about two days i moved him out and he has started flipping back over again. i think i figured out why he isnt doing well though. i had a really bad nitrate spike today.
lastnight i checked all per and they were all good. my nitrate was only 10ppm, today they were 40ppm and i did two water changes with tap water and i tested it today and its infested with phosphates. so i donno. i went to kroger and got 15 gallons of drinking water. which i tested in the store and it tested good all the way around. so i just did a 20% water change. let me know what you think.
