Sebae? - Will anything host this?

He hasn't attached to the sand. He went to a rock cave, 1/4th way up the tank. He grabs on and shifts his body either in the cave or spread open during the day to the light. He keeps moving his foot around grabing to go this way or that way. Not sure what the heck he is doing.

But, he did float and flip over on his mouth too. Just one day I came home and he was in this little cave area. Not sure if he floated there and got stuck and decided it wasn't such a bad place, or he actually meant to go there.

He eats and has gotten his color back (not sure how dark they should be), so I guess he is happy.

mine also found a cave in the center of my tank but he didnt move after he went in there. he went to the back of the tank and stayed there. so after about two days i moved him out and he has started flipping back over again. i think i figured out why he isnt doing well though. i had a really bad nitrate spike today.
lastnight i checked all per and they were all good. my nitrate was only 10ppm, today they were 40ppm and i did two water changes with tap water and i tested it today and its infested with phosphates. so i donno. i went to kroger and got 15 gallons of drinking water. which i tested in the store and it tested good all the way around. so i just did a 20% water change. let me know what you think.

I would always flip mine back over when he went face first. I wasn't sure if he was doing it or if the current would catch him and flip him.

I was stressing over him way too much. Now that he is in his cave, I have finally decided that he has to help himself. Would be afraid of hurting him to try and get him out. Not the best area for light, but he must know what he is doing. (I hope).

I use Walmart's drinking water because it is RO. I have heard there is another brand out there, but not sure. Major inconvience to go and buy by the gallon, but it is better than tap water. Can't bring myself to get an RO unit of my own because of the amount of waste water. Keep trying to get your nitrates down. We have all heard that 0 is best, but I also read (not sure where) that 5 or 10 will also work, but not ideal. I don't know if that is true, just something I read. I usually run around 5 or less, but have never reached 0 yet.

williampaul, that looks like a good one. Unless you are good with plumbing, just make sure it has a faucet attachment. I bought an under the sink version and I never could have installed it without my pro plumber father in law's help.

I picked up 2 clarki clowns at a frag swap. they went into the sebae in 5 minutes or less. I'm having trouble keeping it from moving around now...

The perculas and the clarki are not fighting... yet. I do have a 240G - 7' long tank, so it may be a while.

yep, I was at the swap in bloomington, MI, the fish guys, from 'marine habitats' for $15 ea. plus a few frags. I still plan to add a bubble tip anemone eventually hopefully for the percula clowns if they don't kill eachother right away. Only time will tell, but I expect to lose one set if I don't remove the perculas eventually.

Thanks for the help... I'll be more careful next time I get an anemone... which probably wont be for a very long time!
