Seeding Marine Pure Gems

Hi,

I want to seed the Marine Pure gems to get it ready for a 40 gallon tank.

My 15G AIO tank, sump area is already full.

If I just put the gems(in mesh bag) into the water, will it seed same nitrifying bacteria? Or it is not same as in sump area with higher water flow?

How long does it take? 1-2 months?

It's all the same bacteria. Even after a week there should be enough and will keep multiplying in the new tank as it matures. Just don't try to add too many critters at once.
