That be some Sh!t to see a Tunze wavebox in a 29g....LOL

haha, that will just blow off all the tissue on anything and slosh the water around. probably better off just picking up the tank and shaking it back and forth.

Tunzes are way overpriced though. Do they at least have a lifetime warranty?

I was waiting for someone to chime in with that comment:D and I agree, they are, but so are mercedez and bmws.

yea, but benz and beemers are way more complicated than a D.C. motor, plastics, and simple controllers. I guess the profit margin is high enough that they only need to sell a very small number.

yeh, but they do what other cars do, get you from point a to point b. Metaphorically speaking, Tunzes are the same in that aspect, puts out flow, but they just do it better.

Same with nice cars.. they get you there in a nicer way. Most of that is just image. I don't care too much about image so I don't buy nice cars. Tunzes don't really have much competition because the market is too small. They rely on huge profit margins to sustain their business. Like it or not, not that many people have fish tanks. Almost everyone I know do not have a fish tank.

The market is small because like you said, not many people have fish tanks. However, for such a small market there is still competition. That's why seios are now coming out with a controller. Either way, your going to pay a premium price for a premium product no matter what you buy.

yea, but it does suck to have to pay a premium for such a simple product. Unfortunately for us, the market isn't big enough to encourage competition. From looking at Steve's tunze controller's innards, it doesn't look all that complicated. I didn't take a look at the IC's used but I'm sure it's off the shelf items. It's probably just an astable multivibrator using the common 555 timer IC.

Tunze are way too expensive for what they are....I would never pay that much money for a powerhead

I love my seio's they work just fine and are priced as they should be
