Selecting a Superior Skimmer

I have a 180 gallon reef tank. It has been set up for over a year. I have been using a Coral Life 220 Protein Skimmer. For the last five months, the skimmer has not been performing very well. I am now on the search for a replacement skimmer. I was looking at an AquaC EV 180, EuroReef RC 180, and a Precision Marine Bullet-2. I had purchased a EuroReef RC 135 model and ran it on my tank for about a week. I was not satisfied with it because the motor was malfunctioning. I called an spoke with a EuroReef representative and they recommended, of course, that I buy the RC 180 - a larger model. I was wondering if anybody has any experience with any of these skimmers, or if anyone would recommend a high quality efficient skimmer for my aquarium.

That is a good question. I'm sorry for not stating that in the question. The maxium height the skimmer can be to still fit under my cabin is 27".

Get an aquaeuro classic 400, it looks to be a well built, inexpensive, excellent skimmer

Have tried most of them over the years. Ended my search a year ago when I bought an H&S skimmer. Look at my gallery for pics!

Also look GEO's needle skimmer...I don't know if he uses a better pump now, but that's the reason I ended up buying the H&S since it has an EHEIM pump and they're bult like tanks!

Best money ever spent.....besides my Tunzes.
