I would give them a couple of weeks to see how they get along and in the mean time you should research the subject and come to your own conclusion. I wouldn't put too much faith in advise from a lfs.

errr... wrong.

My female is around 3 inches, and my male is only a little over 1"

Man. Mine are both around 3 inches.. I'll call the other lfs and see what they'll do...
