September meeting

Amy, Mike et.al.

I made an attempt to talk an aquarist buddy into coming to the coral frag meeting this coming Friday. He's interested. However, he is going to be in Denver that day. He asked if he could front me 50 bucks and pick up corals for him at the meeting? Please advise.

I think that sounds ok. If you are fragging yourself we will simply give you two namebadges/passes, indicating you are "fragging for two."

Just bring along your friend's info (name, address, email address) so we can sign him up as a member. And bring along a large cooler so you can carry 16 bags home!

Favia - (1) first come first serve, he's not sure how many frags will come of it

That is a recipe for disaster... The "first come, first served" thing simply means the most pushy people get what they want and those who wait their turn are left with nothing. If that's how things are planned I would hope that it is reconsidered before the meeting. If there are less than enough for everyone it should be a random selection of those interested in the frag like a ticket pulling/ lottery-type thing.

My 2 cents.

Hi All,

The people who run each table should try and control the greed factor. I ran a table at the last few workshops and most people seem to be good about not taking too large a chunk. But if there are only a limited quantity of premo corals or not enough to go around maybe a lotto type thing would work. There is really no other way to be fair about it.

fair frag

fair frag

Take attendance 10 minutes after meeting is supposed to start, frag accordingly. Never been to one of these meetings. "first come first serve" seems like it'll cause probs.

Maybe that coral should be removed from the list? Might not be fair to people seeing that everyone is paying the same. Then again we are all adults and should be able to handle it. If thats a coral you really want then goto that station first and wait in line for it and you will prob get it. If its one you can do without let the other poeple that really want it have it. Everyone should be able to handle it.

Here are example pics of the TYPE of corals that will be there. I am not sure of the colors or anything else that will be there. These are examples of the type only and not the color or anything else. If any of these pics are wrong please let me know and I will correct them.

All,

Chuck says there will be enough for 1 frag of favia per person. First come first serve meant if folks show up very late, it will probably be gone by then. Hopefully this helps.
thx..

I am not a member yet, but I am planning on joining. Is the frag workshop this Friday?? Do we need to sign up ahead of time? and how much is it to join and do the workshop? What should I bring with me to the meeting? Thanks

Frag Meeting

Yes, the frag meeting is this Friday! Pre-registering is not necessary and the cost the join the club is $20.00 and the workshop is $30.00 for club members. The only thing I would suggest to bring is something to carry your frags home in as everything else will be provided.
