I’m putting in a closed loop on my 90g, and hope that some of you can help. I’m going to have eight ¾” lock-line outlets all coming from the perimeter of the top of the tank. The tank will be mixed, SPS, LPS and softies.

The Dart is 3600 gph at about 160W max with backpressure
The Snapper is 2500 gph at about 100W max with backpressure

For me, that’s about a $5 difference per month in electricity between the two.

With eight outlets, the snapper is about 315 gph from each outlet.
With eight outlets, the dart is about 450 gph from each outlet.

This is assuming no losses from piping however. Anyone have any experience with the Snapper or Dart and care to share? Thanks.

I am running a snapper on my 75 gallon tank and its more then enough...I think you would be fine going with the snapper, combined with your return pump you should have plenty of flow all over the tank....

Trying to find out if a single 2" diameter strainer (screen) is o.k. for the suction side of a Snapper. It's 2500 GPH or so.
