Serious issues with order - help

I placed an order on the 22nd for an Aquamedic Oceanlight ballast - as a replacement for a ballast I have that failed.

What I recieved was the Cube ballast, which is of little use to me as the plugs for the lights are different.

Not only did I not receive the product I ordered the product is damaged beyond belief - the entire bottom has been shoved so far (dented) in that it doesn't even stand on it's rubber legs. The box was not damaged in any way - the product was shipped from the factory in the condition (it was drop shipped from AquaMedic).

I will post pictures when I get the chance.

Given all the problems you've had to address with AquaMedic I'm truly suprised you still carry the product (you've helped me out with this issues before).

Is there an adapter for the socket? A new light cable? Help!!

While AquaMedic screws up my livestock is suffering :mad:

I all my haste/exceitement I forgot to add - this is strictly AquaMedic's fault, the item was drop shipped directly from them. I;m posting it here because PA has always be excellent at taking care of the customer, even when it's not their fault.

I'm very sorry they shipped you the wrong product. I know we did order the Oceanlight ballast for you. I've been worried they were going to run out of those because they did discontinue the Oceanlight hood, but figured they would have good supply of parts.

Then to get damaged on top of that. Looked like there packing was pretty decent, it must of been hit really hard during shipping, or that foam they are using is just too soft.

We certainly will take care of this asap for you. We can do a few options.

1. When i get to the shop, maybe tomorrow, Monday for sure. I could see if the 250w Oceanlight pendants we have the same ballast you ordered. If so, we can just steal one from a pendant package and get you swapped out.

2. We can have AquaM ship you a replacement Cube ballast, which is there new design and see if they have quick connectors you could us, if not, would have to hard wire.

3. Scrap the AM ballast idea completely and we'll get you an Icecap Electronic ballast and a male and female connector. You would need to cut your connector off and wire the 3 wires to the icecap connector, then that connector plugs into the oposite connector on the icecap ballast. So after some minor wiring, you would have your plug & play connector and have Icecap ballast with a 3 year warranty.

I don't think option 1 is viable as that would leave someone holding 1/2 a unit, doesn't seem fair.

I knew AquaMedic had built a replacement unit, same as you I thought there were some left over units in play......guess we both know the answer to that one. :lol:

Not certain I want option #2, they redesigned the case but it's the exact same parts on the inside (you can see through the slots) AND as we can see from the shipping that the case itself is pretty fragile, they've removed WAY too much material for such a heavy cap & coil ballast.................it's pretty much like those lone T5's.

Funny you mention option 3, that's the route I was going until I saw the old style replacement were still available............just figured I'd take the lazy route with plug & play :lol: (serves me right I guess).

I send off an email tomorrow or Mon AM, just need to figure out what to do to keep the live stock going.
