Serphent Star

Well, long story short one of my creatures took a big ol bite out of the serphent star's body. Any chance this guy can survive? He is moving some.

PS, the vile and diabolical emerald crab who did this has now been forever banished to the refugium.

Only thing is, it is his body which has the holes in it. His arms are fine, but the area around his mouth is all torn up. Is that okay?

To my eye, and I'm no expert, the main body looks shrunken, as if it was starving.

There isn't much you can do for it at this point. I'd just keep and eye on it. If it's prone to hiding all the time, you might consider a QT where you can watch it and feed it regularly while it heals.

My two cents is that it's necrosis and he is dying, I guess it's possible that a crab bit him but it is also possible that the crab was removing necrotic tissue. if you can put him somewhere other than the display tank that had a sandbed and put some flake food down on the sand for him he might have a chance.
