Setosa growth

Hey guys and gals how is monti setosa as far as growth , Ken gave me a frag a couple of weeks ago and it has good color and poly extension but it doesn't seem to be growing at all.

its a fairly slow grower for me. it takes a while for it to "settle" in your tank, but once it does it'll seem like its taking off! usually it will encrust an area first, then it'll start growing vertically.

Patience my friend. IME, Jake's statement is accurate. Don't forget, it came out of a high light / high food environment.

Once it gets going, the projections seem to grow weekly if not daily. If one considers the amount of surface area on those projections (compared with a flat surface), the quantity of growth can be remarkable. Not quite M. digitata like, but substantial none the less.

Feeding with Reef Nut. Oyster and / or Roti Feasts should help move it along.
