Setting up powerhead and temperature controller with chiller

I just bought an in-line chiller. Since I am putting the chiller on a temperature controller, I guess that the power head that feeds the intake should remain on 24 by 7 and not on the same circuit as the chiller. My logic is that temperature controllers have 1 or 2 plugs (1 for cold and the other for hot), so do I keep the powerhead feeding the chiller on constantly, and then the chiller itself only goes on when hot.

I am assuming it's not a good idea to put the powerhead on the same switch as the chiller. Then the powerhead is off whenever the chiller is off. Is this bad?

Thanks much,

Yup, like Vinny said, leave the powerhead on 24-7. The controller will turn the chiller on and off as needed ;)

If you had a Aqua Controller or Reefkeeper *and* were using a reliable pump such as an Iwaki, then you could set it up where the pump turns on at 0.1 degree prior to the chiller.
