Kc, gadgets runs the radium 250 on the new icecaps, in lumenarc mini looks great, but I think they would look even better on regular old m-80s Todd march thinks so as well, it takes more than the 10% overdriving that the icecap does to make the radium shine like it should, also my uncle who sells commercial lighting says that they should last over a year on m-80s wthout too much spectral shift.

I would have to agree with that ...I burn my 400w radiums with a m135 and they look great and my corals never looked better ..def like the overdriven radium look alot

Also, was the price over or under $1000?

I have one on order too ... it will be over the $1K mark.

Nice tank dogfather! Just curious, why is the tank currently sitting on dowels? Also, was the price over or under $1000? Thanks and good luck.

The tank came in soaking wet so I placed it on dowels so the water between the floor and tank would evaporate.

Under $1000? I wish. Try $1500 CND

Cheers!

Whoa! That little face you posted after your comment was the same exact face I made after reading it. I'm sure it's worth every penny. I'll follow your build thread. Good luck!

Nice! Same here although the wife doesn't see my logic.

Me: "Honey, it's all about trying to stimulate the economy and has nothing to do with me getting new toys for my obsession." :D

Wife:

Great tanks everybody. Really bummed that XTM took his tank down. I have a brand new 24x16x15 acrylic tank with an external overflow, that i am currently piecing together. I'm kind of a slow starter. I will be going with bonsai layout. Can't find the right type of rock right now. I will hopefully have it up and running shortly, and then i can become a member of the SRTC.

Ah, no. Not only... I've spent over $2000 with various U.S. online retailers over the last three months.

How much have you spent in Canada?

;)

FWIW- I got a estimate of $700 for a 36x24x18 Starphire on a Peninsula style from Miracles. It was way cheaper than Elos, AO, and Leemar.
I was the same price as GC until shipping. That's the killer.
I really like Miracles Tanks.

I'm just kidding. Miracles builds a really nice tank, how long till it gets wet?

Yeah, no worries. I knew you were kidding.

Once the basement fish room and plumbing is complete. 1-2 weeks I hope...

Thats exactly why I went with 24" in width instead of 30" form Miracles for my rimless. I couldn't justify the extra 6" for $600.

6" for $600 is allot of moolah!

I'm thinking more along the 2 - 3 week time line. Oh yeah, I'm the wifie / fish chooser / coral picker person. ;)
