and a 72x24x12 rimless

I just picked up one of those from Glasscages last week. Very happy with it. 1/2" glass all around. Solid.

Here are some pictures:

is that Egg Crate painted black by you or bought that way?

Nice tank either way :)

Guess next time I am the other half of FL I will have to make a few detours.

Megabite, what are you going to do with it? just a big frag tank?

For now it will be, but I've been watching this thread for while and love the look of the rimless shallow reef. Eventually, it will become one. Maybe an anemone tank to do something different from my main tank.

I have it plumbed to my DT so I'm all set up. Don't even need to cycle.:D

How much space would you leave above water in a rimless tank to avoid splashes?
Also do you think a single14k 250 W MH over a 20x20x16 frag tank would be overkill? would it be fine for growth/coloration or do I necesasrily need actinic supplementation?

A 250w in lumenarc mini would be perfect, if you are going to have a wave or lots of flow Then I woud go With a 2 inch lip, 1" for normal flow setup.

Not to be rude or to intrude.. But do you have that bad boy in a full room shot? I love the style of what I see, it compliments everything very nicely. Well done.

Jflip, Are you running your Radium on a new style electric Icecap ballast? Thinking of switching but I can't get a solid answer from anyone about this combination. Your opinion is appreciated even though mine is a 250w.

Marlon-- Sweet tank. I clicked on the "Red House" are all those yours?

Kc, gadgets runs the radium 250 on the new icecaps, in lumenarc mini looks great, but I think they would look even better on regular old m-80s Todd march thinks so as well, it takes more than the 10% overdriving that the icecap does to make the radium shine like it should, also my uncle who sells commercial lighting says that they should last over a year on m-80s wthout too much spectral shift.
