Shallow Sand Bed reefers, show me your tanks!

Here's a VERY crappy picture of my tank..The sandbed is like 1.5 in. I only have sand for aesthetic purposes, nothing more. :D I just did a waterchange so the water looks cloudy.

I was looking at the BB thread...man, how do they take such clear shots?!?!? I just bought a freaking 7.2 megapixel camera!!!!..Maybe i dont know how to work it..lol..

Thanks, i just re-did my rockwork..I think its a keeper this time :D..but it will look better in a few years..

good photos do not come magically with more megapixels at all. tripods will help you from shaking, and you will need to have a longer exposure to get better light. Also your white balance is way off, giving it a blue hue. Here is a picture taken at 6 megapixels, then slightly cropped. Used a tripod. (nikon d70 with sigma 105mm lens):

and this one is with a 70mm normal lens:

no tripod, the second picture is taken at 3 megapixels.

Here is my 5 gallon pico tank with about 1/2" tahitian moon sand:

Those pics were taken On March 1st.

I have since added a couple more Maxima clams and the Monti plate is getting closer to tank domination. :D

Love the rockwork!!

Tank is going to look great once the corals have a chance to grow in.

I've been running a short sandbed for a year now in my 40g breeder and i had no problems with it what so ever up until just a few months ago when i started getting some algea. I first thought it was my ro/di so i replaced the filters but the algea hasnt really gone away so now im thinking that some of the problems might be attributed to the short sand bed. Just a FYI, im running a H and S A110-2000 and have fuge filled with cheato.
