Shallow SPS Cube

My next build is going to also be 6'. Once we get away from the "size restraints" of T5's we are much more open to our tank dimensions. Before I went LED I alway tried to stay in the 4' tank realm. Now I'm thinking 6' x 2' or maybe 6' x 3'

Aaron, that last shot is beautiful, despite the fact that it looked much better previously with the blue clam and the other SPS. That blue clam was a beauty!

How are things regarding the red bugs? Did the cold spell kill them off? The remaining SPS seem to be doing very well. OR do you believe redbugs dont affect SPS as bad as we think they do?
 
Amazing pictures your tank looks great. Have a question do the dragon pipe fish survive the cold tempature? Also do they in fact eat the red bugs? Again th no you for the inspirational pictures.

I'm not sure if it was the cold or the Pipefish had an impact, I didn't see them for a while before my issues so my perception was they had already departed prior to the temperature drop. I'm not sure how much of an impact they have, what concerned me more was AEFW goes hand in hand with them from what I read.

Thanks Michael. I lost one about 4 weeks after the temperature drop, not sure if it was related to that. The other one is still going strong, which was the fatter and more greedy of the two. I will add another couple at some point as I really enjoy watching them go about their business.
 
Is Paul at AAC sourcing the Pipefish for you? I've always wanted to keep one, but due to having so much flow in my tank I never tried one. I run my MP10's around 85% on constant mode 24/7.

What do you feed the Pipefish?
 
Yeah, he's going to get them once more come in. They can handle the flow just fine, I have one MP10 flat out and the other 80%. Eats what the other fish get, brine, mysis etc.

Erm, don't scrimp on the lens, invest in good glass and use a cheap/second hand body if you're on a budget. Shoot RAW, find the point in which the ISO is useable and don't go above it. Keep the lens flat to the glass to minimise any distortion and get hold of some software for your computer to process the RAW file. If you're shooting something further back push the lens against the glass to keep things nice and stable.
