Thanks! Yeah, it's grown since that picture. I'm considering taking the plunge and splitting it, but as you can well imagine, I'm hesitant. A buddy of mine just did the sister shroom and was completely successful.

You can cut them in pie shapes like the discosomma's but people report greater success and less loss with just cutting them in half across there mouths.. Id be wary too WeeReef, that orange one is a fantastic specimen. Stay tuned for Wee-Reef Masters "the great pumpkin" LE....

a less harsh way to frag a shroom:

i had one on a small rock, that rock got broke into 2 pieces when i moved my tank, the shrooms base was attached to both pieces of rock. i placed the shroom on top of a bigger rock. half the rock fell off the big rock, stretching the shroom, 2 days later half the shroom was still on the rock the other half on the sand w/the shrooms center stretched real thin. within a week the shroom split itself into 2.

since then i have purposly done it 3 times with sucess.

if this idea works for any one, try it

i have issues using this sites gallery and i used to load all my images onto my gallery at petfish.net, they have changed the format and now i cannot seem to figure out how so i cannot load any new pics....

BUT here is an old pic i loaded a while back. most of my shrooms are of these 3 types

yea thas how red it is.. well.. when i took the picture.. it lightened up a tad bit. i originally cut one in half... and only that one survived... its about 2 inches across.. but seems to be the only one that doesnt send off little drones
