Here is a copy of my graph. I have one Radion Pro approximately 10" above a 34 gallon Solana Superbrite cube (20x20x20) running at 50% intensity.

My graphs tend to have flat tops on them. I like having the maximum light I want to use for an hour or two during the middle of the light period. The way I figure it midday on the natural reef the sun hangs overhead and blasts things maximally for a couple hours, obviously there will be a peak but there is an awful lot of intensity in the middle. MH lit tanks have them on for hours and hours in reef tanks because the can't dim them and they are a very established technology. Am I wrong in this thinking?

I think you are bang on there. Mine is basically a flat line along the top with the peak the same spectrum as the ones on either side but just a slight boost in brightness to mimic high noon.

I'm not sure how to post the link to my graph so I'll just type it out.

8 a.m. - Day starts
9 a.m. - 20k 25%
11 a.m. - 14k 45%
2 p.m. - 14k 60%
5 p.m. - 14K 45%
7 p.m. - 20k 25%

20% clouds 10% storms

I guess the goal is to mimic a 14k MH set-up with a hour of actinic on each end for a dawn/dusk.

I tinker with these lights so much trying to find that just right set-up but it's just frustrating. So 14k MH are proven to give the growth and color so why not try to mimic that?

How is this working out for you? I have a 40b myself and have been using cake mans graph with most of the brightness turned down a lot. I have always liked my 14k halides and am curious how this setup is working for you?

BigKahuna, would you mind sharing you .etg file?

Any difference in the pro unit that is worth the extra $$$

Yeah. Compared to the gen 1 with TIR's they are definatley brighter. On top of that the UV does add some purple and even the new yellow/red combo seems to add a little extra texture. I actually have one Pro and one gen 1 TIR side by side. My 150DD has the lights pretty close so they mix pretty well but still the first thing I noticed was my Bartlett's look much more pink on the side with the Pro's. I have only had the Pro on for a week but I decided to basically max out the UV throughout the curve and have noticed the sides of the corals facing the Pro's have colored up more significantly from what I can see. I've been taking photos to document it to see if I can quantify the changes. I'll post more in the future as I see what happens.

Hello, I want to download some files but I publish the extension recognizes etg.

What is the difference between etg. and etp.?

Hola, quiero bajar algunos archivos que publican pero no me reconoce la extension etg.

Cual es la diferencia entre etg. y etp.?

Here's the graph on our tank. 5 G2s on a 200g 7 x 2 x 2.

Its a little early to report on growth but colors are fantastic.

I did have to move quite a few SPS lower in the tank to get the best colors.

I'll keep updates on growth.

I have a 180 gallon 60" x 30" x 24". I have 3 radion G2s on it and I have it set to 75% maximum output and with 5 week acclimation set. I am about 4 weeks into it and I am just now starting to see some of my SPS look like they are bleaching. Anyone have any recommendations on what graph I should be running. My tank is primarily an SPS tank with quite a few chalices on the bottom.
Thanks

First thing is to stop the acclimation and set it to like 50%. This should be slightly below the 4th week settings.

You might want to go to 45%. I have a 180 also and that is the max I have mine set to, because mine too, were bleaching.

Start working it up slowly from there if things start to reach for the light. Like polyps and anemones.

Right now I bet you will have to wait about 2-3 weeks for them to get rid of the bleaching and get back to normal.

Check your other levels, calcium magnesium and all and see if there is something off that needs to be corrected too.

Glad you caught it when you did.

Update on my bleaching. It has been a month now since I lowered the intensity down to 45 % and everything is coloring up great and growing nicely. Thanks again.

wow, how simple for you. i swear i've had my gen 1 for almost a year with no sucess.

I start with John's graph it nice but I having a lot of brown algae when light on and it gone when I turn off the light for couple days. My tank is 3 week old. Anyone have a program for new tank or a low intensity with light on for 8 hrs/day to share? Thx
