i just added 4 radion gen3 pros on my 300 to replace my 2 reefbreeder photon 48's ( which i did like) .

i used my par meter to match up intensity. reefbreeders were set to ramp up to 75% for 4 hours noon and a photo period of 12 hours. hung at 18". at 75% par at the surface was about 400.

i hung my radions at 13" for better coverage with standard lenses(tank is 96x30x25). at 45% surface par was between 400-450.

i also tested par on my rose bubble which it at 15" below the water line, with the reefbreeders par was close to 150. with the radions more like 100-140..

i might need to add 5-10% to the radions but i am taking thing slowly.

Really wish I had a par meter....

i would be lost without my par meter. just guessing without it. i figured if i can spend $3300 on lights i can spend $400 on a par meter.

For a 90 9" should be mounting height. I wouldn't say no more then 30-40% to start. For a 10-12 hour photo period and 4-6 hour high noon

I recently bout the appoge par meter but I just don't trust the reading Im getting from my radions. After I bought it I read it does not read led lighting very good.

30 to 40 is what I started at and all my corals lost mad color. I'm up to 80 now and everything looks great! Then again, I buy my corals from my lfs who had corals under g2 pros at 100 percent.

I have my gen 2's at 70% and my par meter reads like 80 on the bottom of my shallow rimless. Just does not seem right.

a 90 with G3 pros run at 80% is a lot of light. 90 is 21" right? I don't think I could run my 25" tank at 80% with these lights. I may be wrong but in thinking 60 for me will work in the long run.

At 100% 14k at the at the water line 13" below light was 1100 par and 200 on the bottom. At 80% was 900 at surface 150 on bottom.

I thought this par meter would finally help me solve my ongoing radion tweaking but I'm still as confused as ever.
