Yes, Your light is going in at angles and the thickness of the egg crate blocks that. Look at the wall to the right of your tank. See how the light makes a pyramid shape on the wall. That's the angle on the light trying to enter the top of the tank. Chances are some of the egg crate blocks all of the light entering the tank.

You can test the difference by removing them and taking a pic of the tank and comparing it to the one you already posted. You will probably see less light bounced back into the room as well.

Agree. The clear grid restricts much less light as the grid is partially transparent.

Look at post #868 then look at yours a few down, How much reflected light does it show.

Now keep in mind you might need something on them if you have any jumpers in the tank.

If you are looking at replacing it do not use metal screen and do not use the tight mesh mosquito screen.

Correct because it is going into the tank instead of reflecting off the grate then off the wall.

I can tell the tank is getting more more light. It even had an algie bloom. These are very bright lights.

I'm using the Radient light one for 10 hours.

Hi,

Could someone please let me know the individual channel intensities on Radion G3 that give "10K" setting? I'd like a 10K color temp, but I'm controlling via the Apex which only seems to let me choose per-channel values rather than Kelvin.
