Thank you for your inquiry and we understand you concern for the sharks. We hope to alleviate some of your concern. We go to great lengths to make the shipping as easy as possible for each fish that we ship. Each specimen is placed into an individual bag and filled with enough oxygen to sustain the specimen for up to 48 hours. The bag is then placed in a Styrofoam cooler before being placed in the cardboard shipping box. We monitor the weather on a daily basis to determine whether ice or heat packs need to be added to the packages.
All of the fish we ship are in excellent health upon packaging and because of the strict shipping procedures we follow we have an excellent survival rate. We recommend opening the box in a dimly lit room and using the drip acclimation method to avoid making the acclimation more stressful. We have sold several sharks through LiveAquaria and Diver’s Den and we hope that you feel confident to purchase your shark from LiveAquaria.
