Sharp spines and snail ID

I was cleaning out my filter sock today and as always it's a surprise what I am going to find. This time it was the regular pods but with these spines and smaller ones and this snail. I was only able to get a picture of the larger spines but my sock was full of them. Any ideas what they would be from. They are hard, brittle and very sharp.

I can't help ya, but man are those some dirty socks! How long between cleanings?

That is the bottom corner where a lot of crud settles the rest of it is not that bad. They are DIY felt socks and I can usually get 5 -7 days between cleanings. Zeros across the board so I must be changing them enough. I found out where the spines came from but I am still looking for a snail ID hoping it's not a sundial. Spines are green chromis ribs.
