Shipping Livestock

In Memoriam
I have been hesitant to order any livestock and I did not want them to "cook" in the summer heat.
Also with my past experiance with my shippers lack of care in the handling of my packages (Fragile must equal shake well).

Are there any suggestions to ensure they arrive to me safe?

I see a lot of very nice items but am a bit hesitant to order.

Live aquaria is awsome. I have ordered from them numerous times. They will bag the live stock with pure oxygen, place all bags in a styro cooler, and then in the shipping box. It is then shipped fed ex over night. I have never received anything that I was not completely satisfied with.

I have neaver got a bad shipment form liveaquaria if you are nervous about having livestock shiped then you picked the right company. If something dose happen they will do eavery thing possible to make it right. Order and have no worrys with these guys.Top notch

Harry_Fish,

Thank you for contacting us with your questions. We understand shipping livestock can be scary if you have never tried it before. Our aquatic life is packed to withstand a 48-hour shipment, though the packages typically arrive directly to your door in less the 24 hours. The weather for the entire country is verified every morning before the packages are shipped out. Which helps us determine which orders should receive heat packs or ice packs to control the temperature inside their insulated box, and the packages are marked with "Live Animal" warnings so they are treated well. Our main concern is for the health of the specimens we ship, and we do everything necessary to make sure they do well in your home.

I've ordered from LA a couple times and they are excellent. One note: FedEx overnight std delivery could be delivered as late as 3pm the next day, so have it shipped to your local FedEx location address "hold for pickup". I'm there at 10:00 when they open.

So any other suggestions besides having it shipped to the distrubution center for pickup instead of my house?

Is it better to order earlier in the week or later???

I realize F&S takes great care, but as for my shipper that is where my real concern is.

I'm looking to minimize any potential damage in shipping.

I have received 5 orders from them and all have arrived in excellent shape. I always have it delivered to my closest Fed EX store where they are kept inside someones office. If there are any problems LA has unsurpassed customer service. I only buy from them now

rcpilot44,

Harry_ Fish,

We definitely understand your concerns regarding the arrival of any livestock. However, please be reassured that if you order from us and have any problems, including the shipper, all you have to do is call us and we will take care of you. As far as your question regarding ordering early or late in the week, we would suggest ordering when you find it convenient for you to receive your delivery.

You can also pay a small extar fee to receive your package on saturday if it is better for you. I've done this a couple times, its worth the extra money to make sure that you are home to reveive your fishies!!!

SUPERHERO2943 is correct. If Saturday delivery is available in your area, you can add this service to your order for an additional $12.50.
