Shippping corals to Canada know how

Does anybody know anything about shipping corals across the boarder? Im having trouble getting business' to ship to me :(
 
don't think that's possible without CITES (and that's very hard to have too...)
that why our LFS can't have ORA corals even though they have ORA's fish...
 
Not impossible, but very tedious and time consuming. This is why a lot of businesses are not willing to do the extra work. Plus the peperwork that they need to ship with are the Originating documents from Indonesia (originating destination). So some of these retailers do not have that documentation.
 
Let just ship east to west!!!!
You guys ship this way and we can ship back your way!! It would be alot easier and I'm sure alot of the things found south of the border exist somewhere up here already!!
 
with wickedfrags gone and fragd.it closing shop, very few websites sell collector sps anymore... I hope more will fill in the gap
 
Its tough being a frag shop. People demand huge frags for cheap, no matter if they are very common or rare.

This is why a lot of frag shops stay in biz for a short time. Or they just convert to sell colonies.
 
There's a lot of nice stuff out east..mainly around the GTA,almost anything can be found there.Try finding anything in the prairies :( it's almost an amazing feat to have a reef here.

I'm in Northern Manitoba, so I know all about this statement.

I am 557 Miles from the closest LFS

... And 765 miles from the second closest lol
 
I wouldn't even risk it, about 100 things can go wrong leaving you with dead coral. I'm paranoid myself just driving 15 min home with them in the winter from the LFS. But, I know J&L aquatics is in vancouver and has good prices and service, although I'd really seriously consider staying local for livestock.
 
its all about the cites and what canada law allows, unfortunatly people that import to the us have hard enough times with the laws here.. you need to find exporters from indo that deal with sellers in canada and they might tell you who to call..
 
We need somebody that is willing to smuggle.:eek1: I dont see any way around it. they wont ship it up here.
 
What exactly are you looking for?

The two frag store that was mentioned might have closed there doors already but it doesn't mean that those amazing frags that they use to carry can not be found.

I would say that this is also true to some of the signature frags that south of the border has, you might not be able to get them from your LFS but another reefer has them and for the most part they don't have the south of the border prices.
 
I just had a large order from fragalot.ca. I know reviews have been mixed of this place but I have had good dealings with them. Nice healthy frags (although not encrusted) and a good price.
 
I have purchased a few select SPS from Burc (fragalot) and some have worked out great...others not so much. I find them fine for the run of mill SPS and have no problems with there LPS but he doesnt offer the high quality and/or captive grown SPS I'm looking for.

They are great at growing and fragging captive grown SPS in the US....something we fall far behind on.
