As the title says.
I see they have what looks like mouths, and I see feeder tentacles out on some of my chalices.
Should I be feeding something every now and then?
I am not sure if I mean oxypora spec. Google images seems to make me want to say yes though.
I feed a bit of cyclops anyways to my fish so was thinking a little bit of a spot feed kind of thing. But if it is not necessary for any benefit then I won't bother with the spot feeding.
What about rotifers and phyto?
hey Jeff,
at first: good that u understand my english. lol
feeding rotifers(Brachionus and other small things frozen or not...) is always good for a few Corals and Gorgones(filterfeeders) in your tank but u had to keep a eye on your water-values!
Phytoplankton should be no risk for your values, if its good quality!
Here is a very interresting link about feeding phyto-pla... in reeftanks, maybe it helps.
Enchinophyllia, oxypora, mycedeum and others are often called chalice corals. They can al benefit from smaller foods like cycloppeeze, fihs waste and other small zooplankton. While photosynthetic ,they do need some additional organic carbon from foods to supplement what their zooxanthelae produce.
Fauna Marine LPS pellets have really impressed me. I held off on trying them, for over a year, while reading about so many people raving over how great they were. I finally purchased them about 6 months ago and can only say I wish I'd have done it sooner!
Yeh i know them too,(we sell these brand) and i use Tropic Marine pellets for our
Favia, Favites, Acanthastreas, Caulastreas, and many other LPS-corals...
I also feed Tubastrea spec. and it works very well !
