I accidentally stuck myself in the palm with a pair of scissors while scraping some glue off a disk with palys and a leather on it. I'm not 100% sure if i hit any palys before it happened. I poured peroxide in the wound then washed it. Sitting here with a peroxide soaked paper towel on my hand. Should i be heading to stony brook?

If any signs of infection from this incident.

Unless you are having any knd of difficulty- as in hand/limb turning red/erythema, and/or trouble moving the hand/arm;

you don't need to go to an ED- you always could if you would like to

The culprit is usually a Vibrio bacteria-
Use PO (oral) Ciprofloxacin, and you could add Doxycycline to it as well.
If there is ANY erythema- start the Abx before is spreads- b/c if it is infected with this- it will spread quickly <12-24hrs.

Don't ask me how I know....
And yes, I am a medical professional- with a DEA license to prescribe.

Remember- ANY erythema (redness)- Start the PO abx right away-
Any walk in/urgent care will prescribe.

OH, and btw- H2O2- hydrogen peroxide- is a great stain remover- does little to sterilize a wound-
Sort of a myth- look that one up
