Should I be worried?

Tank has been cycling going on 2 weeks. Used Dr Tim's stuff to help the cycle. My ammonia and nitrite are both between .5 and 1 ppm. Will these algae go away or should this be a concern.

Saltwater from lfs

It might be of the highest quality but it also may not. It seems like alot of algae for 2 weeks. If it is the water quality you will be chasing algae. Consider making your own with a RO system. Clean as much of the algae as you can, do a water change and see if it improves. You can keep the lights off for a few days also.

With my readings can I add clean up crew yet?

Usually not until the cycle is done. I do feel that the larger red green legged hermits could survive sewer water. Anything else aI personally wouldnt.

Algae should be expected...
Typically its diatoms then green hair/film algae then even cyano..
All are normal ugly stages a new tank goes through..

All will go away in time provided you keep up with proper tank maintenance of about a 10% water change each week (or 20% every 2 weeks) to maintain low levels of nitrates and phosphates..

You can keep the lights off during cycling to not allow it to get too far out of hand.. Then turn them back on once your tank has cycled and you are ready for a small clean up crew..

I thought I start doing water changes after the tank is done cycling. I can do it now?

Just let it run it's course. It's a new tank with new rock and sand. It will subside. Don't rush things, let it go for a few weeks. Probably want to keep your lights off for a bit or at least cut your light cycle down to just a couple hours per day. it's nothing to worry about.

Yeah lights off for a few days. Got some live rock from the gulf coming should be here Monday or Tuesday. Hope that helps

You said you were at 4 days in the cycle 3 days ago. You are at one week now, not going on two. This is thread number 4 you have made about this.

Once again, people are telling you to wait because it’s part of a normal cycle to go 2-3 weeks. That your u have nothing to worry about. How many more times are you going to ask the same question before You believe the answers people give you?

Thanks all and jlm I block you so no need commenting anymore. To the rest again thanks for advise and being open to talk and explain to a begginer. It is people like you that make me know I will be ok.
