in my 90 4' tank, I have 1 maxs xf 250 gyre and 1 jebao wavemaker.

I have the opportunity of getting a second gyre pump for a great price.

should i go for it and replace the jebao wavemaker with the 2nd gyre?

I will be able to link both gyres with the advanced controller.

is this overkill or should i be ok at lower settings? I like the idea of linking

the gyres as they are intended for.

I would, as it would give you more options or programming, and using different settings for both to get some pretty cool water movement. I will use 2 230s on my 5 foot 110G tank.

It’s a lot of flow but at a low setting would be ok. Your corals can live with your flow as is, but the added syncing capabilities allow you to get full value out of the pumps.

I use 2 x 250's on my 120DT. They are on the back wall evenly spaced on either side if a center overflow. They max out at 60% and provide a huge amount of flow. I like them a lot. I would get the second one if I were you. You probably won't be able to max them out, but I have to believe that like LED's they will last longer if not run at 100% anyway.

I use one on my wedge 100. But having a piece of equipment as a backup for the other getting older is not a bad idea if the price is right.

I added a second xf250 not long after getting my first about 1 1/2 years ago, and very happy I did. I have them opposing each other on each side of my 115 gal mixed reef. The controller allows me to set a lot of different cycles, including three 15 minute feed modes throughout the day, and a "œcalm" period late at night. Max on either one is only 30% with plenty of flow and the lower settings are very quiet.

I use two on my 90 gallon at 80-100% max depending on how dirty they are. Definitely go for it
