Should I make fish food?

Toolman, I press the food in to pieces of eggcrate and that establishes the cube size. The sheets usually have 100-150 cubes, depending on the egg crate that I have to cut up. Price will be set after I calculate the cost to make them, it changes depending on what ingredients are available and what kind of deals I can find.

Van, you want that in a bucket? lol! What are you keeping these days?

Depending on cost we are down for 1-2 sheets of cubes or whatever. When are you looking to have this done? We won't be able to pick up until after the 1st.

I purchased 2 sheets last time and would love to get another couple on this round. The cubes worked out very well! I think I paid about $12/sheet last time, and I know that will vary depending on what you add, but certainly a great deal!
thanks for the post!

OK I can't resist, put me down for 2 cube portions :)

Just no Gulf shrimp please. Sorry for the bad, bad joke but I couldn't resist when you mentioned 'deals'....

BTW I live about two minutes from the COFCO Chinese market (they have fresh octopus!, yum!) Let me know if I can pick something up for you and I can also help mix and mash if needed.

lol, I don't use shrimp meat anyway. When you put it in a blender, it turns in to the most disgusting paste.

I am going to aim for making on July 10th-11th so that I can bring it all with me to the meeting on the 17th for most people to pick up.

I will definatly want some.
I want atleast 3 sheets, maybe couple more depending on how much it ends up costing.

How big are the chunks going to end up being once they go in the water? Problem I've had with mixed foods is there is always something in there, usually squid, that is FAR to big for anything my tiny tankies can eat.

I'll take 3 sheets of the NON-cubes.

BTW: How long would you say these can be stored in the freezer before they could go bad?

I have only kept them for 13months unopened and they were fine as long as they stay in the vacuum pack. I have not tried to keep it longer, I use it up.
I only make a batch about once a year.

Hey tif, how big are the biggest defrosted chunks in the mix? Is there going to be large pices of squid and such in there or will it be blended small enough to work for small fish setups? All of the store mixed foods I've got so far I end up having to fish out large chunks of silverside or squidies so they dont rot and my cleaner shrimp doesnt get any fatter then his crackhead arse already is! :D
