So far, I've had my current 55 gal for a few months. I got it from a friend you had it set up with same rock, equipment, sand, etc. for about 1.5 years. I live in Okinawa, Japan. During the time he had the tank, he just went to the ocean with a 5 gallon bucket to do his water changes. This is what he taught me; so it's only had NSW.
The anemone he gave me was doing great at first. It was hosted by a maroon clown which got too aggressive so he had to go. Now it is hosted by a Nemo. I've noticed the past couple weeks the anemone doest open as much as it used to and doesn't really reach out towards the lights as much either.
I've conducted some research on this and at first thought it was starving and not receiving enough food from the Nemo (I was not target feeding it on a weekly basis). What I learned from my research is that usually the Anemone will only close up like this when it is digesting, so I thought it must be getting enough food. The color is still the same as before, except now the tentacles are not as full.
Anyways, past week I have target fed it some frozen shrimp. I filter out the bad water before I put it in my syringe. It seems to be doing better, for example last time I shot some shrimp at it, more of the them stuck to its tentacles.
Today, I get home at noon and this is what it looks like again. I have some pics before to show what it looked like when we transferred the tank:
