In the meantime, can a brain get hurt by a Frogspawn coral (Yaeyamaensis)?
Mine are pretty close, but I haven't seen the frogspawn's feelers get too close to it yet, at least 1.5" away.

I have an open brain much like this one, how do you tell if its not doing well? it feels rock hard and has turned lighter in color. what are signes of it being dead?

Ok,I have to get a brain coral.There so pretty.What do you recomend for a first time brain coral keeper.I do not care for the favia's.I dont have muck roomk left in the substrate,can a lobo or something go on the rocks?

How large is this lobo?

it's the size of an adult hand wide open.
 
Ive got one that looks just like yours. I picked up mine at a lfs for 5 bucks.The place was going out of business.I have it for about a year and it has grown fairly fast.Mine is a little larger than a nfl football cut in half.This is the one coral that will never leave my tank.
