I don't think the one you gave me is. That was during the summer before corrected my heat issues (It was the last straw!). I'll send you a pic with my new SPS batch which seems to be doing much better now. :)

quick question on my acro's... i just added a few, (my first acro's). Not thinking they would make it, well now it's been 2 months and I apparently placed them too close to each other. Now they are almost touching, will they over take eachother or go their own directions when they meet? should i break them off and relocate them? any advise?

lunchbucket: i'll post another picture when i transfer the stuff over from my near-empty 60. =)

triterium: the reflector i use is a 'deep reflector' from P1 lighting. i only wanted to use one bulb for the tank so i did my research and found that reflector. i saw the 'scientific' graphs where they map out the dead spots and there was minimal if any at all.

it was about $120ish for the reflector but it was worth it (and cheaper) than setting up another lighting system.

the tank is super bright. kinda hurts my eyes. haha. and definately visually no dead spots at all. so i'm happy. i'll take some pictures this week and post closer up shots of the tank and reflector.

I can't wait to get my new 100g hooked up. I'm just getting my 45g the way I want it too and will be taking it down to upgrade.

Triterium - Love the lights, that is exactly what I was wanting to see - some diversity. Do the 24" atinics do a good job of giving you color?

I still have no idea how I will go. I don't think my tank or my house could handle 2 x 400w's this summer. We had an unusually warm day yesterday and the furnace was on, but did not run all day. There was no air moving in the room and the tank went up almost 4 degrees. I don't have the room for a chiller, nor do I want to spend the money on it or to run it. Lighting is such a major thing to commit to.

I'm really hoping it did not hurt any of my SPS's. They looked just fine yesterday, but it might take a few days before I starting seeing any ill effects.

Tried to do a google search for this P1 lighting but couldn't find it, do you have a link you could give us?

arcab4,

Could you post some pictures of your lighting setup? I'm in the process of setting up a 36X36X24 "cube" and like the looks of your setup there. I would just like to see what the internals look like. I want to build my own modified pendant something like your's but haven't decided on my lighting...2x250W DE with 2 T-5 actinic or 2X400W DE with T-5 actinic or just like yours...so many choices, need help.

I finally got some pics in my gallery of my current setup. I am going to try and get some updated pics of the actual tank. Need to clean the glass real good and make it look pretty first :)

Whole set-up (sump/fuge/skimmer in bottom) This is an old picture so a lot of the corals that are in the previous (and more current) pictures aren't in the tank yet.
