This thread has got me interested in thinking of the next tank I get so I drew up these plans and sent them to a couple acrylic aquarium manufactures.

Anyways it is and isnt a cube, over all its 36x36x24 but the actual reef is 36x30x24

I need a 15 gallon top off water tank because often leave for a week or so because I play at national paintball tournaments around the US.

I am planing on a Dolphin 7500/6500 pump for circulation on a closed loop with intakes under the LR and 6 different outputs with lockline fittings on them. My return line is only going to be 600-800 gph

Also I really want to do a single halide as the lighting so I am doing a singe 400 watt 14000k and placing it high up. To cover the whole tank. The tanks going to be open top, no canopy, and euro braced.

here's mine just started it last week...I have a 30g with 150DE aquamedic and a PFO PC's with a aquaC skimmer and 2 maxi1200's...

After looking at many cube systems it would seem that some are really overkill on circulation. Because of the shape of the tank circulation is considerable easier than a rectangular tank, especially those that are about 24 x 24 or less. If the rock work is off all 4 sides of the glass and the off most of the sand I would think 15-20 times circulation would be adequate without drilling holes for close loop circulation.
When it comes to lighting i would think 250 watt MH would be more than adequate depending on how high the rocks are stacked, even for sps. assuming your tank is 24 inches deep max.
Some very nice setups on this thread.

I love the rockwork frazier.

thanks,,, I'm going to start adding livestock this weekend...

Love all your guys cubes. but i have a quick question. Whats a better tank for middle sized reef fish (tangs, and such) a 56 gallon cube, or a 44 breader? The 44 is kinda short, but more room to swim, the cube has more gallons, but id think would be kinda cramped for a tank or two.

I've got a 93 gallon cube and have one Tang and find it real cramped for him so IMHO neither of those tanks would be enough for a Tang.

humm... well then. lol ok that rules out a tang, but witch one do you think thats would best fit bigger fish (2-3 inches), Or schooling fish of some kind.
