280gal 1/2" glass display and 100gal acrylic sump.what size tank?
That's going to look sweet! How are you cladding it?
Here is the stand I built for my 315Gal tank. Its based on 8020's Aluminum 3030 Extrusions.
Curious about this; your post notes the "3030" extrusions. On 80/20's site, that designation seems to mean 30 mm by 30 mm square framing members, which would be 1.2" x 1.2" square. But in your picture, at least the vertical framing members look a lot bigger than that. Are you sure they're not the 6060 or even 8080 extrusions?
I ask because I'm thinking waffling between building a frame and panel, tenoned and drawbored stand out of mahogany, or an 80/20 construction that I sheath in gloss-black plywood.
I'm thinking that the 1.2 x 1.2 inch 80/20 horizontal framing members would flex too much under the load of a 240 gallon, but I'm not sure whether the 8080's would be necessary.
Kouma is your tank up and running yet?
I'd love to see your stand w/ a FTS, must look nice w/ that flooring which also looks very nice.
Not yet davocean. I am waiting on Miracles Glass to complete making my custom tank. It will be 72x36x28. The stand's dimensions are 72x36x36(+2" for the self levelling feet). Thanks I will post pictures in another thread after everything completes.
Do you put anything under the feet to spread out the load?
Its already 6 foots, one on each leg. I think the load is spread out pretty good. Here is a picture of how the actual foot looks like (pic from 8020.net website). Under each foot, I have a jell pad that is used on furniture to protect the floors.

That is still a lot of weight in 6 small spots, on that nice flooring,, those feet are about 2 1/2 inches round??
