Get started we'll wait....Man, I want to start a new tank just so I could build an awesome stand like you guys have going on in this thread.

I'm not trying to cut corners, I'm trying to determine if my process is flawed.
I just finished this stand tonight. I think it's FANCY... in a slim/modern way.

Well done. I like your trim work and the color.
Thank you.
The pictures does not do justice to the finish (7 layers) with gold dust, laccer and automotive clear as a final quote (including the hardware) 1 1/2 year running and no rust :spin1:
I copied the design from marino and Will16 here on RC
I like it as well, automotive paint is a good idea, I got some inspiration from Will16 as well.Thank you.

Looks like it fits your style perfectly, I like the way the doors are on drawer glides.I just finished this stand tonight. I think it's FANCY... in a slim/modern way.

Nice. Will you have the canopy going up to the ceiling?

I will be installing an ATI Powermodule 10 bulb fixture hanging over the tank. (its in my office sitting there looking all sexy right now)... I want a very open-concept look and feel to counter the large tank in a smaller room problem.
I have yet to determine the exact method i'm going to use to attach the lights. I want a system where I can easily get the lights out of my way when cleaning the glass walls of the tank so I am thinking hydrolics of some sort, but I want it to be clean looking so I'm just not sure.
That's "future Tim's problem"... lol
Hello All,
I built a stand for a new 90 gal setup (upgrade from my first reef tank 55 gal). I have read that I should use a layer of foam on top of the stand. What type of foam is best, thickness, and where do you get it.
Thanks,
Mark
