All I need to do to this tank is feed a few times a week and do a weekly water change.

40 breeder with no sump, no skimmer, no fuge, no return. Just a simple hob filter with carbon for polishing the water and liverock/sand provides natural biological filtration. 5 gallon WC once a week. 5 gallon bucket out...5 gallon bucket in! love the simplicity. microbubbles, cleaning skimmer, reactors, and noises got old so I went back to the basics!! Everythings got great color and growing well!

VHO work just as good as t5 do. They are still some of the best ways to light a tank IMO

My SPS Reef is about as Simple as Simple Gets, No Reactors, No GFO, No Vortech's, although I may get 2 Mp-40's soon, we will see.She is about 6.5 Months old.All corals started as 1" frags, except for about 3 of them.Which came from my old System.

Either way.. I'll play along.

My system I believe is a pretty simple.

A tank, 2 halides, couple of cheap dosers, a skimmer, ato, heaters, some carbon/rowa, a couple power heads, sump is just a 40 breeder, and a bare bones acjr.

Also have a frag tank plumbed into my dt with a single halide power head using the same return pump as my dt.

Seems to work for me, no additives about 50% of my equipment is second hand.

Call me stupid but this is the first time I heard someone keeping sps with only VHO.

Keeping sps with VHO is old school, its been done and is proven for sps. These days though MH, T5 and LED have pushed out VHO.

Here is my simple system... Not full-blown sps, but the pieces I do have in there are in good shape.

System specs:
46g, AquaC Remora HOB skimmer, 2 tunze powerheads, 4 bulb ATI Powermodule T5 fixture, ~10 g monthly water changes. No sump, no ATO, no dosing system.
