I, too, love the maxi minis! I have a bunch of them. I do look them over at my lfs and am not afraid to buy the ones that are bleached or browned. I look for the subtle colors hidden in them. And know they will color up nicely in a few months.
One thing I did that turned into a HUGE problem. I had put a matted filefish in my tank to eat the aiptasia. he ate the aiptasia as desired. Then he started to eat my Maxi minis and RBTAs. The filefish probably downed about 10 m ms. Some that were damaged have since recovered.
