I just got this guy from indyreefs.com made by shadofax69 for me.

It's 30" tall, 11" reaction chamber with two 1000gph recirc venturi pumps. Here is a vid.

Just got it under tha stand today. will show it working and what it pulls out later.

On the 9010, I had seen one at our LFS and when I first saw it I was less than impressed also. But then I saw the price. Materials really don't make a skimmer skim any better (usually). I'm sure they could use acrlic or more expensive materials but then you'd have another $600 skimmer. What they have is a 650LPH skimmer for $325. The comparable H&S is $599 (150) and the Deltec is over $800 (APF600) - both use the 650LPH Aquabee.

They really put their money where it counted on this unit.
In their pocket

Testing out my new 902 beside my 90g tank when I got it... Its in the ever so slowly evolving basement sump room now...
(Didn't make the wife to happy in the dinning room. )

Here is Fliger's A200-1260 I am using . This thing rocks . Blows away any of the 2 dozen skimmers I have used.

Both kick-butt skimmers!

My AP600. This is about 5-6 days worth of wet skimmate. For what I paid, I'm not that impressed with this skimmer.

Is it a safe assumption to believe that you can recirc mod any skimmer that has a reaction chamber? I've got a lifereef that I was satisfied with until I saw this thread. Then again, I paid $200 for it, so I suppose I get my monies worth.

yes you can recirc any skimmer. just take the NW feed pump and plumb it so the intake for the nw pump is from the skimmer body.

NW= Needle Wheel? What pump specifically or pump mod can do that? Is there an NW for replacement in an MJ1200? Could you NW a Mag9.5? I'm very interested. Maybe instead of doing a recirc in my skimmer, I could up it's efficiency by adding a NW and air intake to the Mag 9.5, and then have it run through the stock self-cleaning venturi for more addition of air and more bubbles?

you would have to get a NW impeller for the mag 9.5, but essentialy you can nw any pump if you can make the NW impeller and add a efficient venturi. better off to go with a Ocean Runner 3700 which comes with the NW. check the DIY forums for more info on nw pumps

LifeReef V2-24

This is my LifeReef V2-24 skimmer. The way it looks now is after running for about 3 days of normal feeding with 2 fish and an anemone.

Why is the skimmer cup lid inside out?

Super G3

Super G3

Here is my "Super G3" I left the first Sedra 5000 in it's normal configuration, then I added a second Sedra 5000 in recirc mode.

The last pic shows 1 day worth of skimmate.
