Show me your ultra ultra ultra LPS pieces!

@reffer831, your picture taking skills are showing dramatic improvement! your shots were ok in the beginning but now they are insane. Can you point to where your learned to take those pictures? Thanks

Thanks...I really appreciate the kind words...I like to get into hobby's and just teach myself what to do by taking notes from what other respected people have said or done...it's kind of like reefing you are always learning as you go...the biggest thing is spend the money on a lens buy a tripod and don't be afraid to get into your cameras settings...your not going to brake them, they are there to help you...so I guess the best advise is to know your equipment and what it is capable of....and to accept criticism well, cause you will always have someone telling you what you are doing wrong.

I really like the second detail shot and those last two Andy. Keep it up. I didn't realize that your brain was your favorite coral..

Thanks Jake...I have a lot of favorite corals..lol... but this one is a lil more special to me. I almost lost it because of those stupid shrimp..I removed them and it is now all good as you can see.

Florian bist du Deutscher? Ich sagte dass weil unsere Foto website ist auf Deutsch.

I apologize if you are not. I just thought it was an interesting coincidence.

wth, that is a lobo??? I have never seen a lobo looking like that in my life, ever. Though I've seen scolys like that...you sure you aren't mixed up with the names?:rolleye1:

LOL yes I am very sure....it is a branching lobo.:fun2:

What type of Scolymia do you think it is? This coral doesn't look like the any of the typical Scoly species, with it's fleshy, rough textured tissue. I was doing a little digging around and found this sp. (Mussa angolosa - solitary polyps are given the Scolymia lacera title. This is the first I have heard of the species. Could that explain why you were thinking Scolymia)?

http://sdmas.com/corals/590.php I think the last image resembles Reefer831's "scolobo".

Yeah I wasn't paying attention to that pic very clearly. To me now, it is a lobo, a nice 1 indeed. I've seen scolys that had those colors and shape which is why I thought it was a scoly at 1st.:eek1:

No big deal...lol...when I walked up to the vendors booth at baymac I said "man that a nice scoly" and he said "you mean lobo" then I said "SOLD" LOL....
