I really like pairs. I enjoy watching the interaction.
I currently have pairs of the following: Ocellaris clowns, Bengaii Cardinals, Orchid (Fridmani) dottybacks, Longnose hawks, and Starry Blennies (new from DD). Nothing exotic but I find these pairs are the most enjoyable animals in my tank.
By far my favorite is the Longnose hawkfish pair. They are always close together, often sharing the same rock or swimming within inches of each other. I have had them over year and have not seen any spawning yet, but they are the most closely bonded pair. Never any aggression, which surprised me.
